Human Pets

I love dogs. I had one growing up. My family had always had dogs.

Needless to say, when my roommate left me and married his fiance, it made the blow easier that she had a beautiful Pit mix named Molly who is the sweetest thing on the face of the planet.

Then they got the demon-spawn that is Buster the cat. He's one of those cats that likes NO ONE, and barely tolerates his owners.

I thought it would be a cool exercise to anthropomorphize them to the extreme and figure out what they might look like as people. Molly has these big sweet soulful brown eyes, but is part pit, so she's one giant ball of muscle. She loves to get rough and tumble, and she's not one for unnecessary fashion. Buster is a giant ball of fluff, who (on the few occasions he's let me pet him) feels rather skinny and slender despite his rather large silhouette. He definitely strikes me as a Marilyn Manson fan who's going through his rebellious phase.

It was fun doing this piece, I should try it again at some point....
